From Big Mac to Big Mistake: Armed Teen Arrested in Wild Marion County Rampage

It seems 15-year-old Jaden Singh just couldn’t keep himself out of trouble on October 18, 2024. Marion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Hemlock Radial Court for an active shooter situation and found Singh lying in the street.

When Deputy Guillard approached to check on Singh, the teen, instead of being cooperative, decided to resist and threatened to fight the deputies. After a brief struggle, a firearm was discovered, and Singh was restrained. But wait, there’s more: apparently, Singh had already taken his temper on the road. Earlier in the day, Deputy Kenny was at a McDonald’s on SE Maricamp Road investigating reports of a juvenile stirring up trouble with a customer. That juvenile? You guessed it—Singh. Witnesses said he not only got into a physical altercation but also brandished a gun, threatening to kill the victim.

As if things couldn’t get worse, while Singh was in custody, he attempted to bribe the deputy with a whopping $100 to secure his release. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work.

Later, at the hospital, Singh’s violent spree continued as he kicked and hit both the deputy and hospital security officers. Finally, the teenager was sent off to the Department of Juvenile Justice, but not without a list of charges that could fill a legal textbook. Singh, no stranger to the justice system, faces charges including aggravated assault, bribery, and possession of a firearm—his second time around for some of these crimes.

Parents, here’s your PSA: Keep tabs on who your kids hang out with, or you might end up dealing with more than just bad report cards.
