Marion County Man Accused of Stalking and Sexual Cyberharassment
A Marion County man, Sean Ferson, is facing charges of stalking, sexual cyberharassment, and unauthorized access to electronic devices following an investigation into allegations made by his ex-girlfriend. The incident, which began on August 14, 2024, came to light after the victim reported receiving unwanted contact from Ferson, including the distribution of explicit photos without her consent.
According to the victim, she had been in a two-month intimate relationship with Ferson, which ended shortly after August 14. On that night, while the victim and her child were asleep, Ferson allegedly accessed her phone without her knowledge, sending explicit photos and videos of the victim to his own device. The victim stated that she had never shared such photos with him and was unaware of the unauthorized access until the next morning, when she found the images sent from her phone.
Despite Ferson’s initial denial, the victim confronted him, and he eventually apologized through a series of text messages. He admitted to taking the photos and claimed he did so because he felt insecure about their relationship, stating he was “in a mood.”
After ending the relationship on September 1, the victim requested Ferson cease all contact. However, the harassment reportedly escalated, with the victim receiving messages and calls from 13 different phone numbers, nine of which were confirmed to be from Ferson. He allegedly continued to send messages, often mentioning personal details about the victim and her daughter.
The situation worsened on September 23, when a mutual friend of the former couple informed the victim that he had received explicit photos of her from an unknown number. The victim recognized the photos as those Ferson had previously sent to himself. Text messages from Ferson to the friend also included derogatory comments about the victim, according to the police report.
The investigation, which included a phone extraction with the victim’s consent, confirmed multiple text conversations between the victim and Ferson, where he admitted to sending the photos without her consent. Additional screenshots provided by the victim showed Ferson using various fake numbers to contact her after she blocked him.
Ferson faces charges of stalking, sexual cyberharassment, and unauthorized access to an electronic device. If convicted, he could face significant legal consequences for his actions.
