Marion County Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Stepson With a Power Drill
Marion County deputies arrested a man accused of escalating a family argument over cleaning duties into an all-out brawl that allegedly ended with a power drill being wielded as a weapon.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on March 8, where they found a scene that started with a dispute over cleaning up after a family member and ended with the defendant, Ronnie Eugene Logsdon, allegedly threatening his stepson, Austin Lee Schoonover, with a drill.
The trouble began when Schoonover’s sister, who has autism, had an accident on a chair. Witness Alicia Louise Cox reportedly asked Logsdon to clean it up, but he refused, declaring, “I ain’t cleaning that [expletive] up.” When Schoonover stepped in to de-escalate the situation, Logsdon allegedly shoved him, leading to a physical altercation.
After the fight, Logsdon briefly left the home, but in a scene fit for a low-budget action movie, he allegedly returned minutes later, reaching through the front door window with a red and black drill in hand. According to Schoonover, Logsdon then barged into the bathroom, pointed the drill at him, and threatened to “put holes” in him. Schoonover responded by calling 911, prompting Logsdon to flee the scene.
Deputies were unable to locate Logsdon immediately, but after multiple attempts to contact him, they ultimately arrested him on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and simple battery (domestic violence). A background check revealed he had no prior battery convictions.
No word yet on whether the chair got cleaned.
