Charlie Daniels Jr. found himself in hot water this week after a string of violent and reckless behavior that included multiple shootings, threats, and high-speed chases — all while being a convicted felon without a valid driver’s license.
It started on April 28 with a road rage incident in Reddick. Witnesses say Daniels blew past them in a Nissan Altima, exchanged words, and later returned to tailgate and threaten to kill the occupants of another car — this time while armed. As if that weren’t enough, he allegedly called the victim again later that day and fired a shot just before the line went dead.
Deputies began investigating the assault, only to learn that Daniels had already fired shots at another vehicle involved in the same incident around 2 a.m. that day. Two days later, on April 30, an MCSO detective spotted Daniels’ vehicle in Ocala. Daniels tried to flee — again — but was stopped with a PIT maneuver before attempting a final dash across I-75 on foot. He was quickly apprehended.
Daniels now faces a laundry list of charges including fleeing law enforcement, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and multiple firearm violations. He remains in the Marion County Jail without bond, his joyrides and threats now parked for good.
