Barefoot & Busted: Ocklawaha Woman Accused of Ignoring Stalking Orders, Again

A Ocklawaha-area woman is facing a laundry list of charges after deputies say she broke into an occupied home early Friday morning—despite two active stalking injunctions against her.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Jessica Cardiff around 3:30 a.m. on May 9 after she allegedly forced her way onto Derek and Ashli Wicker’s property, triggering alarms and leaving behind more than just a broken rocking chair.

Deputies said Cardiff was spotted fleeing from the Wickers’ home, barefoot and carrying a black handbag, after being caught on the couple’s Ring doorbell camera. A pair of white and purple Nike shoes, matching Cardiff’s size and style, were later found ditched near the fence line.

Deputies noted the victims had an active stalking injunction against Cardiff at the time of the incident.

Cardiff was also found carrying a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside her handbag, deputies said.

After a trip to Ocala Regional Medical Center for medical clearance, Cardiff was booked into the Marion County Jail, where she faces charges including burglary of an occupied structure, violation of stalking injunctions, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
