Belleview VFW Post 8083 invites local high school students (grades 9–12) to enter the 2025-2026 Voice of Democracy audio essay competition. This year’s theme: “How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?”
The deadline for all student entries is October 31, 2025.
Prizes include:
National grand prize: $35,000 scholarship + trip to Washington, D.C.
Additional national awards: $1,000–$21,000
Local Post 8083 awards:
1st place: $500
2nd place: $250
3rd place: $100
Open to students in grades 9–12, the Voice of Democracy program challenges young Americans to reflect on their personal connection to patriotism and the many ways they support the United States in everyday life. Students are required to write and record a 3–5 minute audio essay expressing their views on the theme.
