7/9/2025 – SE 54th Avenue / SE 110th Street
Cpl. Ortega responded to a report of a male striking a female. Upon arrival, he and assisting MCSO deputies made contact with Allen Norat (W/M, 01/10/2002), who claimed he was the victim of battery and had defended himself against his girlfriend, Cheyenne Wyatt (W/F, 08/22/1991). Two independent witnesses contradicted his account—one observed Norat striking Wyatt while she was on the ground, and the other saw him chasing after her. Norat was placed under arrest. A search of his backpack revealed marijuana, a marijuana pipe, and a methamphetamine pipe. He was transported to the Marion County Jail without incident. Wyatt was not located.

An unknown subject attempted to start a fire in a home under construction. The case is being investigated further by the State Fire Marshal.

7/10/2025 – 5810 SE Abshier Boulevard (Family Dollar)
Cpl. Eckert responded to a past theft. A Hispanic male, later identified as Gilbert Santiago (H/M, 04/06/1987), had concealed a pack of men’s razors beneath his shirt and exited without paying. Santiago claimed he changed his mind and put the item down before leaving. Upon being detained, a search of his backpack revealed a purple powdery substance that field-tested positive for fentanyl, multiple needles, a scale, and two metal spoons with residue. Santiago was transported to the Marion County Jail without incident.
