Fur Real Savings: Low-Cost Pet Vaccine Events Headed to Belleview, Ocala

Pet owners looking to save a few bucks while keeping their furry companions healthy will have several opportunities this month as a series of low-cost vaccination clinics rolls through Ocala and Belleview.

The clinics, operated on a first-come, first-served basis, will offer discounted vaccines for dogs and cats while supplies last. Organizers are encouraging residents to arrive by the posted start time, as vaccine inventory is limited to what is on hand.

Among the available services are one-year rabies vaccines for $14, DHPP distemper/parvo vaccines for dogs for $20, feline three-way distemper vaccines for $20, and six-month intranasal kennel cough vaccines for $20.

The upcoming clinic schedule includes:

• Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ocala Downtown Market, 310 SE 3rd St. in Ocala
• Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Sunshine Drug, 5909 SE Abshier Blvd./U.S. 441 in Belleview
• Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at U Kill Um, 2701 E. Silver Springs Blvd. in Ocala

Organizers noted that no sick pets will be accepted. Cats must be transported in carriers with only one cat per carrier, while dogs must remain on leashes at all times.

Payment is limited to cash and checks only.

Proceeds from the clinics benefit the Florida International Teaching Zoo.
