Vehicle Rollover Crash in Belleview Sends Three to Hospital

Three people were transported to area hospitals Tuesday afternoon, including one trauma alert patient, following a rollover crash at a Belleview intersection.


According to Marion County Fire Rescue, crews were dispatched at 3:33 p.m. on July 21 to a reported crash involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of SE Highway 484 and SE 36th Avenue.


Firefighters from Belleview Station #18 arrived six minutes later to find an SUV overturned on its side after colliding with a van. Several occupants had been injured, and one person was trapped inside the overturned vehicle.
Additional personnel from Spruce Creek Station #30 and EMS Central responded to assist. Firefighters stabilized the SUV while crews worked to safely extricate the trapped occupant as paramedics began providing emergency medical care.


The extrication was completed at 4:02 p.m.
Marion County Fire Rescue said three patients were transported to local hospitals. One of those patients was designated as a trauma alert and taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.
The cause of the crash has not been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
