Students aren’t the only ones getting a refresher on the dress code as a new school year gets underway.
Belleview Elementary School recently sent a reminder to families asking visitors to keep things school-appropriate when attending events on campus.
Yes, the parents got a dress code memo.
“As we welcome families to campus for our upcoming events, we kindly ask all visitors to wear appropriate attire while attending school functions,” the school wrote.
The request is fairly straightforward. Visitors are asked to avoid excessively short shorts, crop tops, see-through shirts and clothing featuring inappropriate language or graphics.
The school said the guidelines are intended to help maintain a “safe, positive, and family-friendly environment” for students.
“Attending campus events is a privilege that allows families to share in special moments with our learners, and we want to continue providing these opportunities for everyone,” the notice reads.
There’s nothing particularly unusual about a school having standards for what people wear on campus. What makes the notice a little more notable is the audience.
For years, parents have stood at the front door asking their children, “You’re wearing that to school?” In 2026, the question now works both ways.
The school thanked families for their cooperation, school spirit and support, and said it looks forward to celebrating upcoming events with them.
