Memorial Day Mayhem: Family’s New Home Vandalized, Suspect at Large



The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is searching for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect responsible for a recent home vandalism incident in the Rolling Hills neighborhood of Dunnellon.
Over Memorial Day weekend, while most people were enjoying the holiday with friends and family, an unknown suspect broke into a nearly-move-in-ready home and caused over $10,000 in damages. The targeted home, situated on a large lot, was purchased by a family who planned to raise their children in this idyllic community. The break-in has left the family grappling with insurance issues, additional repair costs, and the challenge of finding temporary housing while their new home is fixed.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, handling case #24011793, is actively investigating the incident, reviewing game camera footage, and analyzing fingerprints collected at the scene. Authorities are urging anyone who might have seen or heard anything related to the vandalism to come forward.
