Love Hurts: Spurned Boyfriend Pries Door, Flees Scene

Ex-Boyfriend’s Break-In Bungle Leaves $150 Worth of Door Drama

It was a less-than-smooth evening for one Patrick Thompson, who, after some rocky romance, found himself on the wrong side of a door—and the law. Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a potential residential burglary on August 22, only to discover Thompson had been banging on his girlfriend Elvia Gorgonio’s windows and prying at her door after she denied him entry.

Gorgonio, who had been trying to dodge Thompson due to some “relationship issues,” reported the damage to her door at a whopping $150. For Thompson, it was a familiar scenario. A quick computer search revealed this wasn’t his first time scratching his way into trouble; he has a previous conviction for criminal mischief.

Deputies are still on the lookout for Thompson, who lives just a few streets over. So, if you see a man with a crowbar looking like he’s trying out for the part of “failed cat burglar,” give the Marion County Sheriff’s Office a call.
