MCFR Responds to Serious Head-On Collision in Ocala

On Saturday night, Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) responded to a serious head-on collision on the 7600 block of NE 7th Street in Ocala. The crash, reported at 10:09 p.m., left both drivers trapped inside their heavily damaged vehicles.

Firefighters from Rolling Greens Station #28 arrived on scene within five minutes, initiating the extrication process. Crews were joined by additional MCFR units, including Engine #1, Heavy Rescue #2, Battalion Chiefs #3 and #6, and Critical Care #1, to assist with patient care and extraction.

Both drivers were successfully removed from the wreckage and declared trauma alerts at the scene. They were transported to a local trauma hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
