Light Up Lake Weir: Boats, Bells, and Holiday Cheer

Get ready to deck the docks and light the lake! The cherished Light Up Lake Weir Christmas Boat Parade is making its glittering return on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 5:30 PM, bringing holiday magic to the waves of Lake Weir.

The festivities kick off at the Carney Island Boat Marina in Ocklawaha, where boats will strut their stuff—or rather, float their festivity—starting at 13275 SE 115th Avenue. From there, the sparkling procession will cruise the north side of the lake, glide past the iconic Gator Joe’s Beach Bar & Grill, and shimmy south along the eastern shoreline. Judges will scope out the competition from the Lake Weir Yacht Club, so captains, bring your A-game. The aquatic extravaganza wraps up in style near Eaton’s Beach Sandbar & Grill.

Best of all, it’s a parade with a purpose: part of the proceeds will help brighten the season for local charities, including the Ocklawaha Community of Gratitude (Ocklawaha Food Bank).

Mark your calendars and warm up your Christmas cheer—this event is sure to make waves!
