A physical disturbance in Ocklawaha turned into a series of felony charges after Marion County deputies say a woman wielded a 2×4 and allegedly brandished a pistol during a heated altercation.
Loretta Ann Eickhoff was arrested on December 6 following an incident that unfolded two days earlier at a property on SE 180th Avenue Road. According to the arrest affidavit, Eickhoff confronted Jamie Jackson, a house cleaner preparing the home for a potential sale, and attacked her in a fit of rage.
Jackson told deputies that Eickhoff approached her yelling profanities, shoved her multiple times, and punched her in the mouth, causing her teeth to shift. When Matthew Gilmet, a coworker, stepped in to shield Jackson, Eickhoff allegedly grabbed a piece of lumber and began striking him. To escalate matters, Eickhoff reportedly pointed a pistol at Gilmet before leaving the scene.
The incident was captured on cell phone footage, which deputies reviewed. The video corroborated the victims’ accounts, showing Eickhoff striking Gilmet with the 2×4 and later walking away with what appeared to be a black handgun.
Eickhoff was located at a separate address and, after being read her Miranda rights, admitted to hitting Gilmet with the lumber but denied punching Jackson or displaying a firearm. Her claim that Gilmet had pulled her hair was not supported by the footage or victim statements.
Eickhoff now faces charges of simple battery, aggravated battery, and aggravated assault with a firearm. Both victims expressed their intent to pursue charges.
