Ocala Man Arrested for Sexual Battery on a Victim Younger than 12

On Thursday, January 16, 2025, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Nicholas Sutliff arrested 31-year-old Brandon Michael Angevine for Sexual Battery on a Victim younger than 12 Years Old, while he was already in custody for Possession of Child Pornography and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony.

On August 29, 2024, Detective Sutliff received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicating a Kik account uploaded multiple files of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to the platform. Through a series of investigative subpoenas, Detective Sutliff discovered that Angevine was the user who uploaded the file. On November 8, 2024, a second tip was received, which indicated Angevine uploaded additional files in a private chat to another Kik user. Based on the findings of the initial investigation, a warrant was obtained for Angevine’s arrest. On December 12, 2024, he was arrested on the warrant for four counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony.

As he continued to investigate, Detective Sutliff obtained a search warrant for Angevine’s cell phone, which revealed additional evidence that led to Angevine’s arrest for additional charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony. Another tip was received from NCMEC that indicated Angevine sent a file of himself sexually battering a young child in a private message on the Kik application. Detectives made contact with Angevine, who admitted to producing the video, wrote an apology letter, and stated that he had raped her. Angevine remains in custody at the Marion County Jail, where he is held without bond.

Due to the heinous nature of the sexual battery Angevine committed, as well as his criminal online activity, MCSO detectives believe he may have additional victims. Anyone with information about potential victims of Brandon Michael Angevine is asked to contact Detective Sutliff at (352) 368-3546.
