Leaving the scene of a crash
On 02/13/2025 at approximately 3:45 p.m. in the 5700 block of SE Abshier Blvd, Bryce Thompson (W/M 04/28/2006) caused a traffic accident, then fled the area in his 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer (FL tag CI41GR). Bryce then used the 911 system to report a false police report.
Burglary, criminal mischief
Between 2/16/2025 and 2/18/2025 at 11445 SE 72nd Ave, Belleview, FL, an unknown suspect(s) committed the offense of burglary of a dwelling and criminal mischief by forcing entry into the residence and damaging property inside.
Baker Act
On 2/17/2025 at approximately 6:00 p.m., a juvenile female was placed under a Baker Act after stabbing herself in the arm repeatedly with a pencil, punching herself, and deliberately running into the roadway of SE Baseline Rd and SE Robinson Rd. The female was transported to AdventHealth under a Baker Act by Marion County Fire Rescue.
Uttering a forged bill
On 2/17/2025 at approximately 5:35 p.m. at 11310 US Hwy 301, Belleview, FL 34420, a white female subject committed the offense of uttering a forged bill and purchasing a Mountain Dew and a $45 gift card.
Negligent discharge
On 2/17/2025 at 6006 SE Abshier Blvd (AdventHealth), Anthony Tyrell Murphy (B/M 02/14/2006) initially claimed he was shot while walking near SE 67th Ave but later admitted he accidentally shot himself while playing with a firearm in Dashauna Maldonado’s vehicle at the Wawa in Belleview. Surveillance footage, physical evidence, and inconsistencies in their statements supported this conclusion.
Petit theft
On 2/19/2025 between 5:20 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. at Roses at 10397 S US Hwy 441, Belleview, an unknown person committed the offense of petit theft by taking a purse containing $670 belonging to Vivian Rivera.
Criminal mischief
Between 2/20/2025 at 11:00 p.m. and 2/21/2025 at approximately 2:36 a.m. at 5439 SE 113th St, Freddie Garmon Jr. (B/M 11/05/1988) reported that an unknown person damaged three tires on his 1999 silver Dodge Ram (FL tag CH11PA), totaling approximately $750 in damage.
Trespass warning
On 2/20/2025 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church at 11528 S US Hwy 301, Belleview, Debera Sanders was issued a permanent barring notice from the property subsequent to causing a disturbance and making prior threats toward staff.
Retail petit theft
On 2/20/2025 at the Wawa at 5726 SE Abshier Blvd, Belleview, FL, two juvenile females committed the offense of retail theft by taking several items of food merchandise without paying. The juveniles were later identified and reprimanded, and the store declined to press charges.
Missing person
On 2/20/2025 at approximately 6:12 p.m. at 12006 SE Hwy 484, Belleview, FL, adult Garrett McCoy was reported missing by his mother, Tiffany Lucas, as last being seen in May 2023.
Grand theft
On February 22, an unknown white male subject committed the offense of grand theft by taking a cell phone valued at $1,200 at Subway (5516 SE Abshier Blvd) belonging to the victim, Enrique Serrano (W/M 12/27/1989).
Trespass warning
On 2/22/2025 at approximately 2:26 a.m. at 6666 SE 110th St (Opus Bar), preliminary investigation revealed that Michael James Douglas Herman (W/M 12/10/1997) was trespassed from the property.
Possession of cocaine
On 2/22/2025 at approximately 8:26 p.m. in the 11100 block of SE 55th Ave Rd, Ryan D. Wooten (W/M 09/20/1984) was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of alprazolam (Xanax) subsequent to a traffic stop.
Warrant
On 2/23/2025 at approximately 4:18 p.m. at 5725 SE Hwy 484, Belleview, FL, Robert Andrew Wood Hislop (W/M 07/23/1943) was placed under arrest for having an active warrant out of Marion County, FL.
Accident (non-traffic)
On 2/23/2025 at approximately 7:20 p.m., Belleview Police responded to 6006 SE Abshier Blvd (AdventHealth) in reference to a 20-month-old juvenile ingesting nail polish. Both the mother of the child and the child were transported to Shands Pediatric ER in Gainesville, Florida, for treatment. The ingestion of the nail polish was determined to be accidental.
