Semi vs. Sedan: Crash Sends Three to Hospital, One in Critical Condition

Three Transported After Dunnellon Crash Involving Semi-Truck

Three people were hospitalized Thursday morning following a crash involving a Toyota sedan and a semi-truck at the intersection of SW Oleander Place and SW Marine Boulevard.

Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) units were dispatched at 7:56 a.m. after multiple 911 callers reported occupants trapped inside the wreckage of the passenger vehicle.

MCFR Engine 22 was first to arrive, finding a crash with significant damage and confirming entrapment. Firefighters began extrication efforts while requesting additional resources. Crews from Stations 31 and 21 assisted, completing the extrication in four minutes.

Three patients were transported to a local trauma hospital, including one listed as a trauma alert. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
