Pregnant Victim Escapes Violent Dispute After Ice Cream Mishap

A routine evening of ice cream and a movie took a violent turn in Marion County on April 22, 2025, when a dispute between a couple led to aggravated battery and resisting arrest with violence. Savannah Johnson, four months pregnant with the defendant’s child, found herself at the center of a heated altercation after a minor kitchen mishap.

According to the victim, the conflict began when she accidentally tripped while attempting to feed her boyfriend ice cream, causing the spoon to hit the back of his throat. The defendant, enraged, yelled at her and flipped over a futon that she was sitting on, causing her to fall. Things took an even darker turn when Johnson, attempting to retrieve their barking dog, climbed out of a window—wearing nothing but underwear and a bra.

A neighbor heard Johnson’s cries for help and witnessed the defendant grabbing her hair, dragging her back inside. Mobley immediately contacted authorities. An additional eyewitness confirmed Mobley’s account, stating she also saw the defendant prevent Johnson from escaping through the window.

When deputies arrived on the scene, the defendant denied any physical altercation, despite the witnesses’ testimony. As officers attempted to arrest him, he resisted violently, prompting the use of a taser. After a brief struggle, he was apprehended and transported to the Marion County Jail.

The defendant, with a prior conviction for aggravated battery with a deadly firearm, now faces charges of aggravated battery, knowing or should have known the victim was pregnant, and resisting arrest with violence. .
