Due to insufficient evidence, the battery allegations were unfounded. A records check on Edwin revealed an active arrest warrant for operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended or revoked out of Marion County.

On 08/06/2025, 6100 block SE Abshier Blvd – During a traffic crash investigation, assisting Marion County Sheriff’s Sergeant Youmans observed the driver, James Cunningham (W/M 01/23/2006), had a bulge in his pants pocket, and the passenger, Robert Madden (W/M 08/11/1985), had discarded an item into nearby bushes that he admitted was methamphetamine.
Cpl. Hunt patted down Cunningham, who advised he was carrying a friend’s marijuana and felt the obvious shape of a glass bulb pipe, commonly used to smoke methamphetamine. The pipe field-tested positive for meth. Cpl. Hunt issued Cunningham a notice to appear for possession of paraphernalia.
Cpl. Harrington retrieved the item discarded by Madden, a pistol-shaped lighter, which contained a baggie with a white crystalline substance that also field-tested positive for meth. A search incident to arrest revealed Madden had a broken glass bulb pipe in his pocket. Cpl. Harrington placed Madden under arrest for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence.
