New Kiwanis Club Welcomes Community Members

The newly formed Kiwanis Club of South Marion is inviting neighbors and friends to join in its mission of serving children and strengthening the community.

The club meets twice a month in Belleview—on the second Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall and the fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at The Flying Boat.

A special event is coming up on Thursday, September 28, at 6:30 p.m. at The Flying Boat, where the club will hold its Officer Installation Ceremony. Attendees are welcome to enjoy food and drinks at their own expense while celebrating the installation of the club’s new leadership team.

Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to RSVP to Liz Thompson at Lizterry@aol.com or call 352-274-3859.

Organizers hope to see not only long-time supporters but also younger residents from the Belleview and Lake Weir area. “The children in our community need our help,” Thompson shared. “We’d love to welcome fresh ideas and new energy.”

The Kiwanis Club of South Marion is a place to meet friends, share ideas, and work together to make a difference. All are welcome to come, listen, and get involved.
