The Belleview Masonic Lodge #95 held a Rededication Ceremony for the current lodge, built 50 years ago, at 5871 SE Baseline Road in Belleview, next to Belleview Florist, on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

The original Masonic Lodge at 6108 Front Road was built in 1905 and also housed Belleview’s Post Office. The building was last used by the Masons in the mid-1970s, when the lodge on Baseline Road was constructed. The Front Road building later became the Belleview Medical Center, which served as Dr. Ron Shelley’s medical office.

Masonic Lodge #95 has been a presence in the Belleview area for 138 years.

When the new lodge was built, the Masons placed a time capsule behind the plaque on the building. At the Rededication Ceremony, they removed it and unsealed the welded copper box, revealing many items of interest that had remained in near-perfect condition for the past 50 years.

The Rededication Ceremony included Masonic officers from across the State of Florida, as well as members of the Order of the Eastern Star. The Grand Master of the State of Florida, Tali Atala, took a leading role in the rededication of the lodge and proudly stated, “This is our history, this is who we are.”

The ceremony was immediately followed by a Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo lunch with sides, drinks, and dessert.

Renewal of the Charter for the Hearts of the Afflicted
Grand Master of the State of Florida, Tali Atala, symbolized the renewal of the charter by pouring corn for nourishment, wine for refreshment, and oil for joy to the hearts of the afflicted. The box was a replica of the Ark of the Covenant.
