‘I Borrowed It’ – Ford F-250 Gets Stolen, Meth and Lies Take the Wheel

Motor Mayhem and Meth Madness: A Grand Theft Auto, Marion County Style

In the ever-entertaining saga of Florida crime, Marion County deputies nabbed Morgan Bradford after a stolen 2022 Ford F-250 led law enforcement on a high-speed… reverse out of someone’s driveway in Summerfield. The vehicle, originally rented from a Lowe’s in Lady Lake for some casual DIY truck action, had been reported missing from the victim’s front yard after she forgot to lock it—and left the keys sitting right there on the front seat. Classic.

Bradford, who was hired for some electrical work at the residence, was apparently multitasking, eyeing not only the wiring but also the unattended truck. When questioned, Bradford claimed the truck was “loaned” to him by the victim—who, according to him, was concerned her mysterious boyfriend (or maybe it was just “some guy”) would swipe it first. Sounds plausible, right?

Fast-forward to Bradford cruising around with co-defendant Dakota Murphy, allegedly on the way to return the truck (because that’s what you do with things you’ve totally borrowed). Deputies pulled over the duo, discovering not just the purloined pickup, but also a treasure trove of drug paraphernalia. Inside a black box, they found the usual suspects: hypodermic needles, a scale dusted with methamphetamine, and an array of pills that, surprise, didn’t come with a prescription. Among the stash? Crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and some Buspirone for anxiety, because, let’s face it, being on the run with a stolen truck and a glovebox full of narcotics can get stressful.

Bradford, for his part, denied any knowledge of the drugs—blaming, naturally, the unknown male who had driven the truck before him. Because who hasn’t accidentally inherited someone else’s meth along with their F-250?

Bradford and Murphy now have a one-way trip to the Marion County Jail to reconsider their life choices. The F-250, keys now secured, is safely back where it belongs.

Moral of the story? Lock your truck, especially when a Florida man is working on your wiring.
