According to the Marion County Supervisor of Elections Office, five candidates have officially filed to run for seats on the Marion County Board of County Commissioners during the upcoming 2026 election cycle. These filings mark the first wave of local candidates entering what is expected to be a competitive election season for county leadership.
For Seat 2, two candidates have filed: Mike Crimi (REP) and Erica Lynne Hay (Republican). Both candidates are expected to focus their campaigns on local growth, infrastructure, and fiscal policy as the district continues to experience rapid population increases and development pressures.
For Seat 4, three candidates are now in the race: Jeff Bairstow (Republican), Clint Barkley (Republican), and Anthony Barriner-Massa (No Party Affiliation). The contest is shaping up to offer voters a range of choices across political lines, with each candidate likely to bring differing views on land use, economic expansion, and county services.
The qualifying period, along with the official primary and general election dates, will be announced later by the Supervisor of Elections Office as the 2026 election calendar moves forward.
