Opinion: Enough is Enough in Belleview

letter

Ok Belleview residents, it’s time to say “enough is enough.”

What’s happening in our city is getting out of control, building without the infrastructure to support it, worsening traffic, and now a food truck venture many residents feel we don’t need or want. And for the love of God, no more coffee houses. Why must Belleview be known only for coffee shops, auto parts stores, or fast-food restaurants?

Traffic numbers so high because when nearby highways back up, drivers cut through our town instead of staying on the Loop and going around us?

It’s time for change. There should be no more 1,000-plus home developments until every house currently on the market is sold. And no more acres of trees should be cleared until existing empty business spaces are rented or sold.

The solution is simple: vote out the current commissioners, replace the mayor, and start fresh. Belleview is becoming a place where families no longer want to raise their children, and our small-town charm is slipping away.
