A Weirsdale woman was arrested Thursday evening after deputies say she fired a handgun from a moving pickup truck, then led investigators to a stolen firearm, cocaine, and prescription pills during a search of the vehicle.
According to an arrest affidavit from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 4:15 p.m. March 12 to reports of a shooting near SE 134th Terrace in Weirsdale.
An eyewitness told deputies he saw Holly Noelle Bush, 36, driving a white 2014 Chevrolet Silverado past a residence when she allegedly extended her arm out of the driver’s window and fired a handgun while the truck was moving.
A second witness inside the residence reported hearing the gunshot and provided security camera footage showing Bush’s truck driving southbound just before the sound of the shot.
Deputies later located a truck matching the description in a wooded area near a homeless encampment along the 17400 block of SE 134th Avenue Road. As a deputy approached, Bush exited the driver’s side while a male passenger stepped out from the other side. Bush was detained without incident.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies reported finding a handgun wrapped in a sock on the driver’s seat. The weapon was identified as a silver Raven .25-caliber pistol that had been reported stolen in Hernando County.
Investigators also reported locating 11 blue pills marked “GG258,” identified as alprazolam, a prescription medication, inside the truck’s ashtray. A pink backpack on the floorboard allegedly contained a baggie with a white rock-like substance that field-tested positive for cocaine.
During a post-Miranda interview, Bush denied driving past the location and denied firing a weapon. When confronted with video evidence, she declined to answer further questions, according to the affidavit.
Investigators also noted Bush has prior felony convictions in Lake County in 2015 and 2016.
Bush was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail. She faces multiple felony charges including discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, grand theft of a firearm, possession of cocaine, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
