Low-Cost Vaccine Clinics Roll Into Ocala and Belleview

A pair of pop-up pet vaccination clinics is scheduled for early April, offering budget-friendly vaccines on a first-come, first-served basis.

The clinics will be held Thursday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Griffis Tile, 4620 E. Silver Springs Blvd. in Ocala, and again Thursday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Mr. Mocha in the Almeida Plaza along U.S. 441 in Belleview.

Pet owners can expect straightforward pricing. One-year rabies vaccines are $14, while DHPP (distemper/parvo) shots run $20. Cats can receive a three-way distemper vaccine for $20, and kennel cough protection is available for $20 as well.

There are a few ground rules. No sick pets will be treated. Cats must arrive in carriers, dogs must be on leashes, and supplies are limited to what’s on hand, meaning early arrival is strongly encouraged unless you enjoy watching the last dose walk off with someone else’s Labrador.

Vaccines will be administered by a veterinarian, and documentation will be provided. Proceeds benefit the Florida International Teaching Zoo.

Payment options appear to be evolving, depending on which line of the flyer you believe, but bringing cash or a check remains the safest bet.
