A 64-year-old man was killed Saturday night after being ejected from a pickup truck that ran off the roadway and overturned in northwest Marion County.
The crash occurred at approximately 11 p.m. Oct. 4 near 5600 NW 100th Street in Ocala.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pickup was traveling east on NW 100th Street when it left the roadway and entered the north grass shoulder. The front of the truck struck a cable box and a utility pole, causing the vehicle to rotate and overturn.
The driver was ejected from the pickup during the crash and suffered fatal injuries. FHP reported that he was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver’s identity was not released in the report. Next of kin had not been notified when the report was prepared.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
