Shrubbery Shenanigans: Strangulation Suspect Found Hiding in Bushes

Domestic Drama in Marion County: Billy McAdams Arrested for Strangulation

A dramatic domestic disturbance took place on June 3, 2024, that ended with Billy McAdams, 33, cooling his heels in jail. The day began like many others for Jessica Kincaid, 29, but took a dark turn when an argument with McAdams escalated to violence.

According to the police report, tensions had been brewing between the couple for over a month. The breaking point came while Kincaid was tearfully doing the dishes. McAdams, unable to keep his cool, confronted her, leading to a heated exchange. The argument spiraled out of control when McAdams allegedly spat in Kincaid’s face, slammed the fridge door, and then blocked her from leaving the house.

In a shocking turn of events, McAdams reportedly choked Kincaid not once, not twice, but thrice. The altercation left Kincaid with red marks and a bruise, injuries confirmed by Deputy Latham. McAdams’s defense? A claim that he was merely “bear hugging” Kincaid to calm her down. This hug, however, seemed more like a wrestling move gone wrong.

The neighborhood was far from silent during this turmoil. Marianne Coller, a witness, described hearing screams and stepping in to separate the pair, later observing the red marks on Kincaid’s neck.

Adding to the drama, McAdams attempted a less-than-stealthy escape by hiding in the bushes across the street. His hide-and-seek skills were no match for K-9 Carrier and the deputies, who soon found him lying low. Initially denying any physical altercation, McAdams eventually admitted to the “bear hug” after being read his Miranda rights.

Now, McAdams faces charges of domestic battery by strangulation, and a potential date with the judge, while Kincaid recovers from the physical and emotional scars of the incident.

This shocking tale serves as a stark reminder that not all wrestling moves belong in the kitchen, and sometimes the “bear hug” defense just doesn’t cut it.
