Swift Response by Ocala Fire Rescue Contains Multi-Vehicle Blaze at Jenkins Collision Center

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 11, Ocala Fire Rescue contained a multi-vehicle fire at Jenkins Collision Center, located at 1420 SW 12th Street. The incident, reported just after 3 a.m., saw prompt action from local fire crews, preventing further damage and ensuring public safety.
Upon receiving the emergency call, Ocala Fire Rescue dispatched Engine 1 and Rescue 1 to the scene. While en route, additional information revealed that multiple vehicles were involved, prompting the dispatch of Engine 4 for added support.
Upon arrival, fire crews encountered a significant challenge: a large column of smoke and flames emanating from three vehicles parked side by side behind a locked fence. Engine 1 quickly took command, forcing entry through the gate and initiating an aggressive fire attack. Engine 4 played a crucial role in the operation by establishing a reliable water supply.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the fire crews, the blaze was brought under control swiftly. To ensure complete extinguishment and prevent rekindling, foam was applied to douse any remaining hotspots and cool the affected area. The fire was successfully confined to the three vehicles initially involved, although a fourth vehicle sustained paint damage due to heat exposure.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
In addition to the fire rescue teams, the Ocala Police Department responded to the scene, ensuring the safety and security of the area.
