Marion County’s Latest Love Story Takes a Stabby Turn
In what can only be described as a case of love gone sharp, Marion County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of an alleged domestic stabbing on August 14, 2024. The incident involved a couple who, according to the victim, have been on and off more times than a light switch in a haunted house.
The drama unfolded when Darlene Stroud, the girlfriend-turned-defendant, decided to play the role of amateur detective, accusing her beau of cheating while they were out driving. The confrontation took a sharp turn when she allegedly whipped out a pocket knife and decided to take matters into her own hands—literally. The victim, whose arm now sports a fresh laceration, pulled over to let Stroud out, but not before she left behind the knife as a parting gift.
The victim, bleeding but not beaten, reported the incident after a quick phone call convinced him to return home. Despite the shallow cut on his arm and a mystery scratch on his nose, he seemed more perplexed than panicked, unsure if Stroud was off to find new love or just another ride.
Deputies recovered the blue pocket knife, but it’s clear this wasn’t a clean break—no blood or skin found on the blade. As for Stroud, her whereabouts are currently unknown, making her the latest addition to Marion County’s “Find the Missing Stabber” list.
