Mac’s Drive-Thru Owner Pledges a Day’s Revenue to Retiring Employee of 37 Years
In an incredible gesture of appreciation, Mac’s Drive-Thru owner Ron DeFilippo is donating every dollar earned on October 11th to long-time employee Sighle “Sheila” Williams, who is retiring after 37 years of service. That’s right—Williams has been working at the Gainesville eatery practically since it opened in 1987.
DeFilippo, who describes Williams as the heart and soul of Mac’s, sees this as more than just a financial gift. “As a small business owner, I’m a big believer in people over profits,” he said. “Sighle has been creating meaningful connections with our customers for decades. We want to celebrate her the way she’s made people feel valued every single day.”
For over three decades, Williams has been the warm, welcoming face behind the drive-thru window, and now the community has a chance to return that favor—one cheeseburger at a time.
