Belleview Plans Events for ‘City Government Week’

The City of Belleview announces events for the 2024 Florida City Government Week, taking place from October 21 to 26. This annual initiative, promoted by the Florida League of Cities, highlights the essential role city government plays in building welcoming communities and delivering critical services. During the week, Belleview will host a series of interactive events that will give residents a closer look at how their local government operates, as well as the opportunity to meet city leaders and department heads.

The City of Belleview invites residents to participate in the following events throughout the week, learning about each area of City government and meeting with department members:

Monday, October 21

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Coffee with the Mayor and Commissioners, Community Center

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Belleview Police Services with Chief Holland, Community Center

Tuesday, October 22

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Understanding Permits with the City Development Team, Community Center

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Tour of the Commission Meeting Room, City Hall

Wednesday, October 23

8:30 AM – 9:30 AM: Coffee with the City Administrator and City Clerk, Community Center

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Public Works Programs with the Director of Public Works, Community Center

5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: City Events and Community Outreach, Community Center

In addition to these events, the city will announce the winners of the “If I Was the Mayor…” essay contest on Thursday, October 24, on its official Facebook and Instagram accounts (@cityofbelleview). This year’s contest includes two categories—one for 4th and 5th graders, and another for 6th through 8th graders—giving students the opportunity to reflect on the responsibilities of the mayor’s office.
