The Voice of South Marion just got a facelift. But don’t worry, we’re still the same paper you’ve enjoyed for 55 years, just with a bit more… flair.
Longtime print edition readers probably noticed something different last week – the paper’s a bit bigger. After decades printing on our signature tabloid-sized pages (technically 11”x17” for you print product buffs), our longtime printing partner unexpectedly closed its doors.
But much like a cat landing on its feet, we’ve adapted, securing a new printing service that delivers exceptional quality with a bonus – full color on every single page for the first time in our history.
That’s right. The days of squinting at black-and-white photo clippings are over. Now, when you spot a friend, neighbor, or even yourself in the Voice, those photo keepsakes will be vibrant and crystal clear, no filter needed. For our advertisers, we hope the inclusion of full color on every ad serves as a boost for your business.
Why the change? Truthfully, we liked our smaller, easy-to-handle format. After all, we stayed on it for decades. It was a bit of a niche in the newspaper world – compact, convenient, no need for a table to spread it out. But the industry has shifted, and this new broadsheet size is now the standard. It offers many benefits and allows us to pack in even more of the hyperlocal news you expect from the Voice.
As always, we’re dedicated to being our reader’s go-to source for hometown news. So here is to brighter pages, bolder coverage, and many more years of publishing news in Marion County.
