A single-vehicle crash involving an overturned semi and a fuel spill had traffic onto northbound I-75 at Highway 27 (Exit 354) in Ocala at a standstill earlier today. The wreck, which happened just before noon, forced officials to divert vehicles away from the on-ramp while emergency crews worked to contain the spill and clear the roadway.
Ocala Fire Rescue, the Ocala Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, and Road Rangers responded to the scene. One person was taken to the hospital, but no other injuries were reported.
As of now, traffic is moving again, though drivers may still notice some residual slowdowns in the area.
