Letter: Traffic Isn’t a Playground

Dear Editor,

What the hell is wrong with these kids? Since when did pretending to jump in front of cars become a fun after-school activity? I recently saw online where a driver had to swerve when two Belleview Middle School boys pulled this stunt. And the worst part is the kids had to double over laughing afterwards.

News flash: It’s not funny. It’s not cute. It’s a one-way ticket to the ER or worse. And considering some of their classmates have already been hit by cars this school year, you’d think they’d have a little more sense.

Meanwhile, 467 is already a disaster. No sidewalks, no crosswalks, no adult supervision, just hundreds of kids walking inches from traffic like it’s some kind of live-action game of Frogger. And now we’ve got students adding to the danger?

Parents, please talk to your kids before they become the next cautionary tale.

Sincerely, A Driver Who’d Rather Not Be in a Manslaughter Case
