The Ocala Police Department announced with deep sadness the passing of retired K9 Babbo, a cherished member of the force since 2014. K9 Babbo faithfully served the department, first as a vital part of the K9 Unit and later with the Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team, before retiring in 2021. During his distinguished career, Babbo was instrumental in the seizure of numerous narcotics, firearms, and assets, contributing significantly to public safety. His efforts were pivotal in many proactive operations conducted by both the Ocala Police Department (OPD) and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
Beyond his professional achievements, K9 Babbo brought immense joy to his partners and the broader community. His unwavering loyalty and dedication not only enhanced law enforcement efforts but also built lasting bonds of trust and affection with those he served.
