If your spring cleaning pile includes books gathering dust, the Friends of Belleview Library have a perfect solution.
The group is accepting gently used books during its regular hours—Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—but for those looking to lighten their load, volunteers will be on hand Sunday, Feb. 23, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Book Nook to help unload donations straight from vehicles. Additional drop-off assistance will be available Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Donations of novels, nonfiction, children’s books, puzzles, CDs, and DVDs help stock the Book Nook, a used bookstore that funds library programs and the preservation of Belleview’s historic library building.
The Friends will also host an open house at the Belleview Library on March 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The community is invited to enjoy refreshments, raffles, and children’s activities while learning about local organizations.
Rounding out the season, the annual Spring Book Sale will take place March 21-22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Bargain hunters can expect daily specials and plenty of literary treasures.
