A Belleview woman’s search for answers ended in handcuffs Wednesday after deputies say she bit her boyfriend and jumped on a child during a violent domestic dispute.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Jennifer Lisbeth Melendez Bosque became upset during an argument at their shared residence after accusing her boyfriend of cheating. While the victim was on the phone with dispatch, Melendez allegedly grabbed the phone from his hands and took it into the bathroom to look through it. When he attempted to get it back, she reportedly burst out of the room, grabbed him, and followed him into his bedroom.
Once inside, the suspect allegedly jumped on him and bit his finger hard enough to cause it to bleed. Deputies observed additional injuries along the victim’s neck and arms. The incident escalated further when a child in the home became involved. The victim reported seeing Melendez jump on the child during the confrontation.
Both the adult victim and the child had visible injuries, according to the arrest report. Melendez admitted to taking the phone and said the argument was over infidelity. She was arrested on charges of simple domestic battery and child abuse and was transported to the Marion County Jail without further incident.
