An Ocklawaha woman was arrested Thursday after deputies say she stabbed another woman through a car window during a roadside confrontation — then finished the job by allegedly jabbing a knife into the driver’s tire.
Deputies responded to SE 180th Avenue Road early that morning to find a woman with a bleeding hand who claimed she had just been attacked near the Dollar General on SE Highway 464C. The victim said Katherine Beck Jones, who had been walking along SE 95th Street Road, began shouting as the victim passed by in her car. When she stopped and told Jones to “leave her family alone,” Jones reportedly lunged at the open window with a blue-and-silver folding knife, slashing the woman’s hand and stabbing her leg before turning the blade on the vehicle’s tire.
The victim drove home and called 911. Meanwhile, deputies found Jones at the Dollar General parking lot with the knife in her possession. She allegedly admitted to slashing the victim and stabbing the tire — which will cost about $100 to replace — but claimed it was self-defense, saying she feared being run over.
Jones was arrested and charged with burglary with battery and criminal mischief.
