Deputy says Walmart trespasser kicked, clawed her way into jail

What started as a busted phone at the Walmart on U.S. 441 ended in busted charges Thursday night.

Deputies say 38-year-old Kimberly Martin wasn’t ready to hang up her complaint when staff told her her phone couldn’t be repaired. Loss prevention trespassed her from the store, but she stayed planted at the service desk demanding more help.

When Deputy Jarrett Leedy tried to arrest her, the affidavit says Martin put up a fight — kicking him in the back, pinching his hand, and grabbing his uniform before being put into cuffs.

She now faces felony counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting with violence, plus a trespass charge. Martin was booked into the Marion County Jail without bond.
