Two men were arrested Saturday after Marion County sheriff’s detectives said a woman was attacked inside a vehicle during a party in Reddick earlier that morning.
According to arrest affidavits from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Williamson Gedeon, 23, of Ocala, and Marc Cineus Jeune, 35, of Ocala, were each charged in connection with the same April 11 incident. Gedeon was charged with sexual battery and kidnapping to facilitate a felony. Jeune was charged as a principal to sexual battery and with kidnapping to facilitate a felony. Both were being held without bond before first appearance, the reports state.
Detectives wrote that the 25-year-old woman told investigators she had been at a party near Northwest 155th Street in Reddick when she was allegedly lured to a black Mazda by Gedeon, who told her he had Hennessy in the vehicle. The woman said she had been drinking and was heavily intoxicated.
The affidavit states Gedeon allegedly got on top of her in the passenger seat after she told him she was not interested and repeatedly told him to stop. Detectives wrote that the woman said she was restrained in the vehicle and could hear friends asking where she was while others at the party were being told she was not in the car.
According to investigators, Jeune then got into the vehicle and joined in restraining the woman while the attack continued. The report states the woman said both men held her against her will as she begged to be let out and tried to keep her pants on.
Detectives wrote that the woman eventually managed to break free after telling the men her phone was being tracked. She then got back to her friends and later underwent a sexual assault examination.
The sheriff’s office said the suspects’ vehicle had already been stopped by the Florida Highway Patrol during an unrelated investigation, allowing deputies to conduct a show-up identification. Investigators wrote that the woman independently identified the men involved and described their roles.
During a search of the vehicle, detectives said they found the woman’s broken red headband in the back seat where she said it had been left during the struggle. The affidavit also states that a witness provided a written statement saying several men were keeping others away from the vehicle and falsely saying the woman had already left.
One of the affidavits says Gedeon later took part in a recorded phone call with the woman after being advised of his rights. Detectives wrote that during that call, he apologized repeatedly and acknowledged she had not given permission for what happened.
Investigators said both men later gave statements that were inconsistent with the physical evidence, witness accounts and the woman’s account.
The case was investigated by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Department.
