The Belleview Masonic Lodge 95 will host a community memorial honoring the victims, survivors and heroes of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The memorial is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Belleview Masonic Lodge, located at 5871 SE Baseline Road in Belleview.
With relatively few September 11 memorial events held in the local area, Lodge 95 members decided to organize an observance that would provide the community with an opportunity to gather, remember and honor those affected by the tragedy.
The approximately 45- to 60-minute ceremony will be held indoors because of September’s typically high temperatures and the possibility of rain. Seating will be limited to approximately 80 people.
Organizers said that, as with other events hosted by the lodge, considerable attention will be given to the details of the memorial.
Several speakers are expected to participate, including Marion County Commissioner Matt McClain and a representative from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Light refreshments will be served following the memorial.
The Belleview Masonic Lodge 95 invites members of the community to attend and join together in remembering September 11 and honoring the lives and service connected to that day.
