To all you people out there complaining about how high everything has gotten, have you ever stopped to think about the minimum wage going up? In the last five years, minimum wage here in Florida has gone up $5 an hour.
Think about it. When you make businesses pay everybody more money, where do you think that money is coming from? The business owners have to get it from somewhere, and guess what? That somewhere is us, the customers.
Minimum wage was never meant to be enough to raise a family. It was meant to be a starting wage, something for young people getting their first job or an apprenticeship.
Now you have people wanting $15 an hour or more, and many of them don’t even want to do the work. Somebody has to pay for it, and that somebody is all of us.
