Uninvited Airbnb Guest Caught in Shower, Caught in Lie
In a bizarre twist on house-sitting gone wrong, Marion County deputies arrested Elissa Harrison on July 30th for breaking into an Airbnb, taking a shower, and making herself at home – literally. The homeowners, Rodney and Faye Evans, were out of town, leaving their property under the care of Tammy Green.
The adventure began when a vigilant neighbor reported a suspicious white female on the property. Lieutenant Miller arrived to find Ms. Harrison enjoying the amenities upstairs. Claiming she had purchased the residence for $500,000, her story quickly unraveled when the true homeowners confirmed no sale had occurred.
Further investigation revealed Ms. Harrison had somehow acquired a key and indulged in four cups of coffee and a gallon of water before deputies arrived. The damage? About $20 in consumed goods and a $200 cleaning bill for the mess she left behind.
Detained without incident, Ms. Harrison now has an extended stay awaiting her – this time, courtesy of the Marion County Jail.
