Summerfield Feud Hits the Fan: Corvette Exhaust Leads to Battery Charges
In what could only be described as a clash of titans in Summerfield, Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kenneth Lewicki after a feud with his Corvette-loving neighbor, Aaron Perry, turned physical. On September 1, Perry, 72, was allegedly minding his own business—by which we mean revving his Corvette’s engine as he passed Lewicki’s house, just to rub in the sweet, sweet sound of high-performance exhaust.
Apparently, this was not a one-time occurrence. Lewicki, who’s had his fill of Perry’s revving antics, claims this noisy car show was a regular feature of his daily life. According to Lewicki, the sound of Perry’s Corvette had been harassing him and his wife for quite some time, pushing him to the edge of his patience. On this particular day, after another episode of what Lewicki called “revving harassment,” he decided it was time to settle the score.
Moments after the latest revving session, Lewicki drove over to Perry’s house, parked, and marched up to the garage ready for a showdown. The two neighbors, who don’t exactly exchange Christmas cards, started arguing. Things went from “let’s talk about this like adults” to “hands-on” when Lewicki allegedly shoved Perry, sending him backward into his motorcycle.
Lewicki insists he was merely trying to defend himself from Perry’s supposed “charging” and that Pierce wasn’t even there to witness the incident.
Witness Kathryn Pierce, Perry’s girlfriend, who was in the garage at the time, confirmed the push, noting that Lewicki’s palms were open—perhaps an attempt to keep it classy, but it still earned him a trip to the Marion County Jail on charges of battery on a person 65 or older.
Perry was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital for further evaluation.
