All Roads Lead to Jail: Man Says ‘All the Weed is Mine’ After Wild Pursuit

Man Leads Deputies on High-Speed Chase, Claims ‘All the Weed is Mine’

In what could only be described as a holiday-themed pursuit, K9 Deputy Christmas of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office had an eventful evening on December 14, 2024. While patrolling the 17000 block of US Hwy 301, the deputy spotted a blue 2006 Ford Taurus driving without a license plate—a red flag that kicked off a not-so-festive high-speed chase.

The driver, identified as Jackie Trammell, appeared to be auditioning for a NASCAR race rather than complying with law enforcement. Ignoring flashing lights and wailing sirens, Trammell took officers on a tour of Citra, weaving through side streets, including NE 175th Street, NE 16th Avenue, and NE 172nd Street, before eventually slowing down on 165th Street—only to speed up again because, apparently, consistency wasn’t on the agenda.

When the chase finally ended in the 800 block of 165th Street, Deputy Christmas and his team searched the area and recovered a marijuana grinder and a plastic bag containing a green leafy substance. Trammell, it turns out, wasn’t just fleeing traffic violations—he was carrying more than 20 grams of marijuana. Post-Miranda, Trammell confessed to both possessing and smoking the substance, adding that he didn’t want his passenger, Nikolás McLean, to “get into any more trouble.” For good measure, he gallantly declared, “All the marijuana is mine.”

McLean, as luck—or bad decisions—would have it, already had a warrant out for failing to appear in court, so he was arrested too. The marijuana, confirmed to be the real deal via field testing, weighed in at 24 grams.

Trammell was booked into the Marion County Jail on multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding law enforcement and possession of marijuana over 20 grams. Authorities also issued him a citation for his impromptu road show.

Deputies probably won’t forget this chase anytime soon, and neither will Trammell, whose holiday season now includes a stay behind bars.
