An unidentified white male committed the listed offense by passing a note to the teller, threatening that he had a gun and demanding money. Case pending active.

Retail Petit Theft, Issue Trespass Warning

Case Number: 06-0036

Date/Location: 6/2/2025, 5726 SE Abshier Blvd (Wawa)

Cpl. Harrington responded to the location for an in-progress theft. Upon arrival, he discovered Christopher Capps (W/M 12/13/1988) had stolen a fountain drink, chocolate milk, and a Little Debbie pastry. Cpl. Harrington placed Capps under arrest without incident and transported him to the Marion County Jail.

Out of County Warrant

Date/Location: 6/2/2025, 3290 SW 10th St (Marion County Jail)

While at the Marion County Jail for a separate arrest, Cpl. Harrington placed James Cregger (W/M 08/31/1971) under arrest for a Hillsborough County warrant for failure of a sexual predator to follow registration procedure.

The complainant reported alleged ongoing abuse and neglect of the home’s residents by staff and management. The information was forwarded to the Department of Children and Families.

Grand Theft Controlled Substance, Fraud in Obtaining Prescription Drugs

Omar Maliki Powell Maragh (H/M 01/19/2006) committed the listed offenses by calling in a fraudulent prescription for Xanax and having it filled. Case pending active.

Uttering a Forged Check

Case Number: 06-0051

Date/Location: 6/3/2025, 10303 S US Hwy 441 (Florida Credit Union)

Hermoni Wilkerson (B/F 08/15/2003) attempted to pass a forged check with the intent to defraud the bank. Case pending active.

Felony Retail Theft, Tampering with Evidence, Resisting an Officer Without Violence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Issue Trespass Warning

Case Number: 06-0098

Date/Location: 6/6/2025, 10775 S US Hwy 441 (Dollar General)

Corporals Harrington, Hunt, and Ortega responded to a retail theft. Justin Herrick (W/M 08/30/1995), wearing a neon yellow/green shirt, stole merchandise and fled on a bicycle. Cpl. Hunt located and apprehended Herrick, who admitted to the theft and drug use. Stolen items and a meth pipe were recovered. Herrick was positively identified by a witness and placed under arrest without incident.

A firearm was recovered from a recently returned rental vehicle and secured at the police department for safekeeping.

Officers assisted the Florida Highway Patrol with a traffic homicide investigation.

Drive While License Suspended, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Case Number: 06-0115

Date/Location: 6/7/2025, 10600 Blk S US Hwy 441

Cpl. Hunt conducted a traffic stop on a green pickup truck with expired tags. The driver, Paul Watson (W/M 11/23/1977), had a suspended license. Cpl. Hunt smelled marijuana, and Watson voluntarily handed over two plastic bags and a pipe. The marijuana field-tested positive. Watson was arrested and transported to jail without incident.

Unregistered Motor Vehicle

Case Number: 06-0126

Date/Location: 6/7/2025, 10400 Blk S US Hwy 441

Sgt. Esquivel stopped a green pickup truck for making a U-turn on a red arrow and discovered the vehicle was unregistered. The driver, Michael Coleman (B/M 11/21/1960), was issued a criminal citation.

Voluntary Missing Person

Date/Location: 6/7/2025, 11233 SE 69th Ter (Autumn Glen)

Adult Vianka Garcia Mendez (H/F 12/14/2005) was reported missing by her father, Christian Garcia Bird (H/M 05/12/1980). She left voluntarily.

Aggravated Battery

Case Number: 06-0132

Date/Location: 6/7/2025, 6500 SE 107th St (Belleview Sports Complex)

John Kastner (B/M 01/21/1987) allegedly cut the face of security guard Avedon Hamilton (B/M 08/16/1990) with a blade during a parking lot argument. Hamilton declined to press charges. Case closed without an arrest.
