A Belleview man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he opened fire early Saturday morning, striking three people and causing chaos among patrons.
According to the Belleview Police Department, the shooting happened around 1:41 a.m. at Tropical Vibes Bar and Grill, located at 11008 SE 66th Terrace. Officers say Sammy Hill III, who turned 25 the following day, intentionally shot Dante A. Townsel multiple times—in the chest, shoulder, and wrist—with the intent to kill.
Two other victims were injured by stray bullets, and police noted that Hill knowingly discharged the firearm into an occupied establishment full of people.
The gunfire also caused substantial property damage, including to the building structure, a fire extinguisher, and a utility vehicle.
Hill fled the scene but was arrested shortly afterward when he returned to retrieve his vehicle, police said.
He is being held without bond and faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied structure, discharging a firearm in public, and felony criminal mischief.
The case remains under investigation by Belleview Police.
