It was a summer to remember for Belleview Dixie Girls Softball.
The Belleview Debs All-Stars returned home as national champions after winning the 2025 Dixie World Series in Louisiana, while the Belleview SweeTees brought back the prestigious James E. “Obie” Evans Sportsmanship Award, making Belleview a standout on both the scoreboard and the spirit of the game.
To celebrate their achievements, the City of Belleview held a special ceremony at the Belleview Community Center, where players, coaches, and families gathered to reflect, recognize, and commemorate the historic run.
The Debs team (made up of young women aged 13–15) fought through a grueling bracket of top-tier teams from across the South. Behind strong bats, sharp fielding, and clutch pitching, they rose to the top, capturing the World Series title and making history for Belleview softball. Their championship roster includes:
Kylie Ashton (Center & Right Field)
Ally Axe (2nd Base)
Harper Foote (Left & Right Field)
Reese Leslie (Right & Center Field, Catcher)
Emily Pearce (Shortstop)
Callie Pfriender (Left Field, Pitcher)
Mackenzie Quartararo (1st Base)
YaMari “Yaya” Reynolds (Right Field)
Sydney Rich (Centerfield, Pitcher)
Kyra Rigozzi (3rd Base)
Addison Rahn (Catcher)
Emily Thompson (Pitcher, Centerfield)
The Debs were led by coaches Lawrence Quartararo, Charles Axe, and Sean Rich. Coach Charlie, who also serves as President of Dixie Girls Softball, praised the team during the event, saying, “These girls finished what they started.”
A highlight of the homecoming was a commemorative banner hung inside the Community Center. One by one, each Debs player signed her name, turning months of hard work into a permanent symbol of hometown pride.
As the crowd gathered inside the packed room City Commissioner Bo Smith summed it up: “This is Belleview.”
But the Debs weren’t the only local team to turn heads in Louisiana.
The Belleview SweeTees, representing the youngest division in Dixie Softball, brought home the James E. “Obie” Evans Sportsmanship Award. Chosen out of seven teams, the SweeTees were recognized for their respect, attitude, and love for the game, a reflection of the community values that Belleview softball instills.
The SweeTees roster featured Stella Bacelo, Korie Kemnitz, Lilliana Larson, Myla McCarthy, Sawyer Murphy, Addison Oats, Elliot Owens, Alanna Rivera, Cali Roscoe, Kayden Storm, Emersyn Surber, and Callie Wilcox. Coaches included Josiah Larson, Kiley Storm, Craig Prusansky, and Miriam Oats.
As banners were signed, hugs exchanged, and medals flashed in the light, one thing was clear: Belleview girls didn’t just show up this summer, they left a mark on the national stage.
